I was in the pool with the parrots this weekend. I was on a raft and they were on my stomach. I was paddling around the pool and they were having a nice ride. Then all of a sudden something spooked them. I think it was just shadows since the sun was going down behind the trees. Ruby jumped off first and them Scarlet followed. They both went right in the water and I screamed. But I didn't need to worry. They just flapped their wings and glided over the water and climbed out of the pool. It was amazing. They were fine.
Scarlet came back to hang out on me. She is not scared of anything. Penny watched the whole thing. She is not too fond of the water. She would rather sing opera. This morning I found her chewing on a stuffed panther. Everyday is an adventure. I hope to get some pictures.
I have been teaching the Greys their colors and shapes. At least they like the blocks. I think it will take a long time. They are talking a lot more. I think when you have two they don't talk as much. Their favorite expressions are:
What are you doing?
What's the matter?
Where's daddy?
Do you want a cookie?
Ouch Ouch (This is said when they are biting each other)
Stop fighting.
I love you.
Good girls.
Where's everybody? (This ruby loves to say when she walks into a room looking
for some action)
Penny says a lot. She has whole converstions with herself. She will have three voices. One will be hers and another will be Abullah and the last one will be me.
She is very funny. Such a happy parrot. She is so content to just sit on her cage while the greys have to be everywhere. They would probably walk downtown if I let them.
It is supposed to cool down tomorrow. I will be so glad.
I am getting much stronger. It is amazing how far I have come. I just can not get sick again.
